I laughed yesterday when the television meteorologists talked about the ever so slight change in the weather. The temperature dropped just a couple of degrees, but the humidity is down a bit too. It made for a beautiful evening last night, and holy smokes did my Baldwin Park neighbors take advantage of it. I had an appointment late yesterday afternoon, and drove around Lake Baldwin to go out the exit by Semoran Blvd. Between Lower Park Rd. and Baldwin Park St. I must have seen 100 people out walking, running, riding bikes and walking the dog. I run around Lake Baldwin in the mornings, and that is probably about a 1.25 mile span. There are always lots of people out enjoying trail around the lake, but it was just crazy how many people were out last night.

If you are thinking of running or walking around Lake Baldwin the trail is 2.5 miles around. My daughter organized a 5k run around the lake a few years ago, and we measured from the fountain in downtown Baldwin Park to the Veterens Memorial Park and back to be right at 3.1 miles. It is a great place to get your exercise in and enjoy the lake and ponds. There are also usually lots of other folks out enjoying it as well. Most of the trail is an extra wide asphalt track except for the area right around the Fleet Peeples Dog Park. The sidewalk down E. Glenridge Way and right in front of the park on Lakemont is a standard width concrete sidewalk. I only mention this because concrete is a little harder on the knees. Just another thing I love about living in Baldwin Park.
